Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,
Greetings from Haiti. We thank God for the privilege to partner with you in the Lord's work in Haiti. We thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement over these last months since the earthquake. We've been touched by the numerous ministry teams who have come to reach out to the Haitian people in their time of need. However, we've not done a good job providing you with prayer needs. We apologize for our inconsistency. Thanks for your understanding. We're very happy to share some praise reports and prayer requests with you at this time.
PRAISE REPORTS
1. So far, Haiti has been spared being hit by a hurricane or major tropical storm. Praise the Lord!
2. Although many Haitians are still sleeping in tent communities, missionaries and faith based NGO's are working to relocate families and provide mid term wooden houses. Some people are even becoming land owners for the first time in their lives. Praise the Lord!
3. All four of our recent teams ranging is size from 7 to 36 members did a great job ministering to children, youth, and sometimes adults utilizing soccer evangelism, Book of Hope School distributions, youth retreats, Kid's clubs, and one on one prayer and personal evangelism.
PRAYER REQUESTS
1. Protection against water borne disease.
2. Please continue to pray Haiti would be spared from Hurricanes this year. Historically, it is the later months of the season that have brought great disasters to Haiti.
3. God's leadership in reconstructing Haiti. In the first 6 months since the earthquake, only 1% of the rubble has been removed.
4. Please pray that Haitian Christians would live their lives empowered by the Holy Spirit while reaching out and touching their nation with the love of Jesus and the gospel. Pray that they would be bold in their witness while being humble in their hearts.
5. Please continue to pray for the school in Miragoane that needs to be rebuilt. Pray that God would show us the best design to use, provide all the resources necessary to build it, and enable us to finish the work before school reconvenes in mid October.
6. Please pray for Murielle's parents, Leonard and Melone. We reported they were once again pregnant. However, Melone recently lost the baby in the early stages of pregnancy. Pray God would give them the wisdom and counsel they need as they attempt to re start their family.
7. Please begin praying for Haiti's presidential elections coming up in November. Pray God would place His leaders in positions of authority.
8. Please ask God to provide us with a solid final draft of the Creole translation of the Children's "Step Up To Life" gospel tract.
Thank you for your friendship and partnership in ministry! Your prayers deeply touch our lives and the Lord's people in Haiti.
Love,
Dan, Liz & Joey
